Calling attention to these differences is the main goal of the annual World Toilet Day, held each year on November 19. According to the World Health Organization, more than 2.4 billion people still don’t have easy access to a toilet. The theme of this year's World Toilet Day is “poo journey”. The main idea is to draw attention to the “call of nature” and disposal of bodily waste, which ultimately impacts the quality of sewerage.

While dermatologists say that in winter it is best to bathe every second day, on hot days it is fine to cool down with more frequent yet shorter showers. Every second Czech uses the toilet as a dustbin
A common habit in Czech households is to flush various types of waste down the toilet. According to a recent survey by the JIKA brand, the leading Czech manufacturer of sanitaryware, bathroom furnishings, and wall and floor tiles, Czechs most often flush down the toilet: dirty water after mopping the floor (80%), food scraps (52%) and hair (40%). However, frying oil, cigarette butts and even aquarium fish are not an exception. Yet none of it belongs in the toilet. Flushing can lead to (not only) unnecessary complications in the form of clogged or even completely blocked waste outlets.
Wasting water isn’t a big problem in Czech households
The issue of an insufficiency of potable water is highlighted each year on World Water Day, which takes place on March 22nd. This year was no exception.
